Instructions for Changing Daylight Saving Time in ELTEC Time Clocks to meet current Federal Law

Includes NTC-17E series, TC-1500 and TC-2000

Starting in 2007, Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Sunday of November. On the second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour. On the first Sunday in November, clocks are set back on hour.

Not all places in the U.S. observe DST. In particular, Hawaii and most of Arizona do not use it. If DST is not required, all clock models allow this function to be disabled. See instructions below.

ELTEC’s time clocks will accommodate this change although an entry to the program in the time clock is required by the user. The user may change the start and end dates of DST two ways, either through the keypad on the front of the clock or through the PC program (if they are using DLPRO 17E, DLPRO 1500 or DLPRO 2000).

To change the program through the key pad, the user enters A91. The command ‘Enter Start Week’ will appear and the number 1. Simply edit the 1 to 2 by pushing the 2 key and enter using key B. The command ‘Enter Start Month’ will appear along with ‘4’. Change the ‘4’ to 3 and enter/B. The command ‘Enter End Week’ will appear along with ‘5’. Change the ‘5’ to 1 and enter/B. The command ‘Enter End Month’ will appear along with ‘10’. Change the ‘10’ to 11 and enter/B. Your clock is now programmed with the new DST start and end dates. As long as you do not do a factory default reset (A90), your clock will follow the new DST settings.

For users of DLPRO 17E, open the program on your PC. Select ‘Edit’ and ‘DST’. A box will appear at the bottom of the screen. Change the values from ‘4’, ‘1’, ‘10’, ‘5’ to ‘3’, ‘2’, ‘11’, ‘1’ respectively. Click ‘Done’. Go to ‘Transfer’ (top of screen) and click ‘Send Program’. This will transfer the program to your time clock and your new DST parameters will be set in your time clock.

For users of DLPRO 1500 and DLPRO 2000, open the program on your computer. At the bottom of your screen, select ‘Annual Program’ and click on ‘Show Program’. An ‘Annual Program Steps’ chart appears. Click on ‘Set DST’ and a ‘Daylight Savings Time Settings’ window appears. Change the ‘1’, ‘4’, ‘5’, ‘10’ to ‘2’, ‘3’, ‘1’, ‘11’ respectively and click ‘Set’. This will save the DST as a global value which means when you send any of your annual programs to your time clocks it will update DST in your time clock.

NOTE: IF YOU DO AN ‘A90’ (FACTORY DEFAULT RESET) ON YOUR TIME CLOCK, YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE DST IN YOUR CLOCK AGAIN.

Disabling DST

Manually: User enters A91. ‘Start Week: 1’ appears. Change ‘1’ to 0. Enter (push button B) FOUR (4) times to return to LCD display with current time.

DLPRO 17E: Open program; select ‘Edit’ and ‘DST’. In box at the bottom of the screen, click ‘DST DISABLED’ then ‘Done’.

DLPRO 1500 & DLPRO 2000: Open program. At the bottom of the ‘Group Management’ window select ‘Annual Program’ and click ‘Show Program’. When the ‘Annual Program Steps’ chart appears, click ‘Set DST’ and a ‘Daylight Savings Time Settings’ window appears. Check ‘Disable Daylight Savings Time’ and click ‘Set’.
